Course Types and Content
Emergency First Aid & CPR with AED Certification (6 – 8 hrs)
Introductory course covers time sensitive and life-threatening priorities.
Skills include: primary circle of care, rescue breathing, CPR, AED, choking, control of bleeding, and how to
perform a secondary assessment.
In BC – Level 1 equivalent - does not include AED certification – 2 year certification
Standard First Aid & CPR with AED Certification (13 – 16 hrs)
Comprehensive course to cover all skills in Emergency First Aid plus:
Musculoskeletal, soft tissue head and spine injuries, heat and cold emergencies, poisoning, allergic reactions, and medical conditions such
as convulsions and diabetes.
Standard First Aid & CPR Recertification with AED Certification (6 – 8 hrs)
Refresher to cover all skills learned in Standard First Aid. Recertification can only be done once and must be conducted before
current certificate expires.
CPR/AED Certification (4 hrs)
This course provides first responders in the workplace with the hands-on skills necessary to perform CPR and properly use an AED.
